The middle route of the South-to-North Water Transfer Project mainly provides drinking water for Hebei province, Beijing, Tianjin and other cities in north China, which leads to high requirement of the water quality. This project has a characteristics of long water conveyance canals. A variety of complicated hydraulic structures are included in this channel, such as inverted siphon, check gate, tunnel, culvert, aqueduct structure. Additionally, open channel is the main transfer way to divert water. The water in open channel is completely exposed in the air, which results to higher risk for water of being polluted by the outside world. Therefore, the pollution accident simulation is very important for the security of water quality. In this paper, highway bridges are considered as the main pollution sources through field investigation, data collection and analysis. Dianbei highway bridge is represented as the pollution accident site. A one-dimensional hydraulic model and water quality model are established for the special canal. The influence of pollutants for water quality are analyzed based on built models, and measures are put forward according to pollution.
