Based on the systematic analysis of the distribution characteristics of the water and sediment diversion along the lower yellow river , using the quasi-two-dimensional water and sediment mathematical model carried out the calculation of the diversion of water and sediment launched in 1976-1995 series influence mechanism of channel evolution. The results show that long-term water and sediment diversion will cause the sediment accumulation in river channel, and the impact of the channel evolution has demonstrated obvious in Gaocun section , the water level of 3000 m3 / s increases 0.32 m .the sediment accumulation gradually increased further downstream , and largest sediment accumulation is 1.46m which appears in LuoKou section , while the water level uplift values of reaches below Luokou section decrease .the results have important guiding significance for the yellow river flood control and management plan
