Two-dimensional simulation of dam break flow provides enough information about the time dependence and spatial variation of flood such as flood distribution, water depth, flow velocity and wave arrival time. In this study, an efficient numerical model for dam break flow on mobile bed is developed. The shallow water equations are solved by finite volume method on unstructured triangular grids. The fluxes are calculated by HLLC approximate Riemann solver. Comparing the present model results and experimental data demonstrates the accuracy and efficiency of the model.
