Arthur Mynett is Professor of Hydraulic Engineering and River Basin Development at UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education in Delft, the Netherlands. He is Chair of the Water Science & Engineering Department at UNESCO-IHE and involved in education, research and capacity development around the world. His research interests are in river engineering, flood risk management, water-related hazards, environmental hydroinformatics and ecohydraulics. He is promoting applications of new concepts developed in the Netherlands (e.g. Building with Nature, Flood Resilience, Room for the River, Delta Technologies) to river basins in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. He is Chair of the LOC of the 36th World Congress of IAHR (International Association of Hydro-environment engineering and Research) which will be held from 28 June – 3 July 2015 in Delft-The Hague, Netherlands.
