Dr. Bregje van Wesenbeeck is an expert on nature-based flood risk mitigation with Deltares. She has extensive experience in projects on inclusion of ecosystem in flood risk mitigation throughout the world. She is also affiliated with the Technical University of Delft, where she focusses on broadening the knowledge base for application of nature-based flood risk reduction measures in close collaboration with civil engineers. She is invited throughout the world to present the current status of integration of ecosystems into flood risk reduction and she has a still growing publication list in peer-reviewed journals.
