Prof. dr.ir. Dano Roelvink has over 30 years of experience and holds appointments at UNESCO-IHE, Deltares and Delft University of Technology. His research focus is on process-based modelling of coastal hydrodynamics and morphology. Havig led the initial development of Delft3D, he is a strong believer in open-access data and open-source models and has set up collaborations with institutes in the US, France, Belgium, China, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Brazil and West-Africa. He has initiated and currently leads the development of XBeach, an open-source model for storm impacts on beaches, dunes, barriers and reef coasts. In 2011 he published a bestselling 'Guide to modeling coastal morphology' with World Scientific.
